In an age when a great idea and a URL can become a business worth hundreds of millions of dollars, where do you go to find the next Facebook, YouTube, or Google? Hosted by Springboard Enterprises, the AllThingsMedia: 2010 venture capital forum will showcase investment-ready, high-growth media companies led by women.
AllThingsMedia: 2010 will be the second-ever venture forum held exclusively for women-led entrepreneurial ventures in emerging media and entertainment - including but not limited to: digital media, print, internet content, Radio, TV, Search Engines, Social Networking, Advertising, Mobile Telephony, Video and Filmed Entertainment, Video Games, and Data Mining.
AllThingsMedia: 2010 Program Overview
AllThingsMedia: 2010 combines virtual access and in-person events in order to maximize value for and connections between program participants and Springboard’s international network of entrepreneurs, investors, sector experts and trusted business advisors.
AllThingsMedia: 2010 has three main components: recruitment and qualification, coaching, and connections.
1. Recruitment and Qualification
Key Dates: Applications Open May 25th, Application Deadline: July 31
During the recruitment and qualification period, emerging growth companies in the media sector are recruited internationally. Recruitment begins in February with assistance from our international stakeholder network and supporting organizations that have extensive sector expertise and connections. Our invitation-only committee of leading sector investors conducts a rigorous three-round review including: an online application review, business plan review, and in-person interviews to qualify a selected group of the most promising companies.
2. Coaching
Key Dates: Bootcamp at Bloomberg Headquarters: August 31 / Coaching Sessions in September and October.
In August, selected companies will attend an intensive entrepreneur Bootcamp session at Bloomberg Headquarters in New York City. Companies have access to Springboard’s professional presentation coaches, and are assigned a team of hand-picked experts to assist them in refining their investor presentations. The coaching process includes: web conference calls, ongoing feedback from the team via in-person meetings, email and phone, and an in-person panel review midway through the program – the “Walk Through” – where each company will deliver their refined presentation. At the end of the coaching process, final company presentations are video- and/or audio-taped for additional promotion and exposure.
3. Connections
Key Dates: October 20: AllThingsMedia: 2010 Forum and 4th Annual Winners' Circle Dinner.
In addition to the contacts made between the selected companies, their coaches, and the investor screening committee, Springboard actively promotes and facilitates connections between the companies, Springboard alumnae entrepreneurs, active investors, strategic partners, service providers, our international network of trusted business advisors and the press. We employ a variety of methods, including:
- Venture Forum Event: Selected companies will have the opportunity to present and demo their companies to area investors and strategic partners. The event will be held at the Paley Center for Media in NYC on October 20.
- Springboard's Winners' Circle Dinner 2010: For the entire Springboard network, the annual dinner program features a video presentation honoring Springboard alumnae and distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to fostering emerging growth enterprises led by women. The 2010 dinner will be held at the Central Park Boathouse in NYC on October 20, immediately following the Venture Forum Event.
- Ongoing Support: We are dedicated to providing maximum value to our entrepreneurs and investors, and will continue to make connections and other presentation opportunities available. Selected presenters become a part of our extensive network of successful alumnae

What People Said About AllThingsMedia: 2008:
"It was an inspiring, enlightening, empowering and uplifting experience. Every detail of the event was seamless and most remarkably so because it was such a huge undertaking, what with the massive process of soliciting, reviewing and narrowing down the proposals, scheduling such a large number of people with impossible schedules, interfacing with people whose hopes and dreams largely rested with the organizers, finding a way to constructively critique everyone but keep the morale and motivation very high. The final day was impeccable!"
